Supreme Court Denies Request to Block Texas Abortion Law

Supreme Court Denies Request to Block Texas Abortion Law

Yesterday, the Supreme Court denied a request from Texas abortion providers to freeze a state law that prohibits abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. This law is one of the strictest in the country, and it bans abortion long before many even know they are pregnant. So now, the strongest abortion restrictions since Roe v Wade have taken effect in the state of Texas.

After the law took effect, abortion clinics across the state have now severely limited the services that they provide. President Biden has said that this decision is likely to bring “unconstitutional chaos.” So now, the future of Roe v Wade is in question.

It is now more important than ever to do everything possible to put Democrats in office, both locally and nationally. Democrats offer the best platform in protecting a woman’s right to choose what happens to her body and are always fighting back at the GOP and their war on women’s health. With more Democrats in office, we can ensure that we have the ability to expand the court so that President Biden can appoint justices who will not make flagrantly unconstitutional decisions such as this.
