Wonderful!”- This was his first time having to do this- he has severe arthritis- He voted by mail before and then did not get a ballot in the mail- He sent an application in and was sent back that it was too late. He said, “I live in Tarrant county, which is a Republican county. He said my application was not too late and felt there was foul play. – He needed a ride, and the lady was so nice and enjoyable- She took me to a nearby school, and I voted very easily. I voted in the primary and general for the first time in 10 years in person- I am very concerned about restricting voting. Your ride to the polls worked out very well and very smoothly. I am so appreciative. Here in Texas, they want to limit voting by mail. “I live in Atlanta and drove for Rideshare2Vote for the first time this election cycle. I cannot thank you enough for giving me the opportunity to meaningfully help out with the election. The training provided and the level of communication through dispatch was excellent and made the process relatively easy. I knew I couldn’t just sit around on Election Day, and I do not like to phone bank/text (it’s just not my strength), so being able to drive voters to the polls was perfect. I have learned so much about Atlanta and Georgia, and I really feel like we drivers made a difference! “ – Leslie /Atlanta, GA.
“I had an incredible experience. This was my first time being politically active other than just voting, and it was unforgettable. My first voter was an older blind man, and assisting him was truly an honor. It was so amazing providing him a ride because he told me there was no way he could have voted without us. It was such a beautiful and rewarding experience. My next voter was a very kind college student who was voting for the first time. Seeing the range of ages and backgrounds I was able to assist was just incredible. This service is truly life-changing for so many people and deserves all the praise and credit.” – Clarissa /McAllen, TX.
“Lady in her 70s. Adorable as could be. She said she was in Tennessee and rode on a bus for 2 days to get back in time for this election. She was dedicated and excited... After taking her to go vote, she was so shocked to find out I would wait for her and take her home. We did a little detour to Walmart so she could pay her rent. At the end, she asked if she could give me a hug.”
“One of the riders during early voting told me she was voting because her brother recently died from complications due to 9 gunshot wounds. She wanted a smarter, gun sensible candidate representing our interests. She also worked full time, went to school at night, and had 6 sons. She put a lot of things in perspective for me, and made me realize how badly people want to get to the polls. It was an honor and a privilege to help out.”
“…a college student from UTD who had gone to the local voting place and was told he had to go to his precinct in Mesquite. This created a bit of excitement, as it was after 5:30 pm and as you can imagine--crazy traffic to get over there. He probably made it about 6:45 ish!”

“I took one young man from Collin County. Late 20’s but first time voter. Inspired by Beto to vote! Thanks so much for organizing. Will be needed again for 2020!”
“She moved to Ft. Worth after losing her home in New Orleans during Katrina. She lives in government subsidized housing and said that the Beto team knocked on her door and asked if she needed a ride. Her polling place used to be walking distance from her house so she didn’t need a ride in the past. But now it moved to about a 10 minute drive away. She was very grateful for my ride as she would have otherwise been unable to get to the polls. This was a very gratifying experience.”
"The ride. Taking Jean meant so much because he couldn’t have done it without us. To go along for the ride—to participate in his journey—ennobled us in a way nothing else could do. It’s why his choice of candidate doesn’t matter, nor ours.”
“I was paired with a woman in Northwest Houston, about 30 minutes away in rush hour traffic. GPS led me to a blighted neighborhood of small and mostly run down homes, a labyrinth of narrow and deeply pot holed streets without sidewalks or street lights. The sun was down by now, and it was quite dark. I found her waiting for me in her front yard. She was a 70 year old grandmother who told me she was raising her 3 grandchildren. She had just returned home from her shift at an Assisted Living center. She walked slowly and used a walker herself. Her polling place was only one half mile away, but she could not have gotten there physically, or safely, without our help.”
