Rebuilding our Nation Across the Political Divide

President Biden appealed to 31 Republican and Democratic Governors at a black-tie dinner at the White House to continue working across political divides to improve Americans’ lives, upholding the optimistic message he gave at the State of the Union in the House of Chambers.

To be able to restore the soul of the nation and rebuild the backbone of America, the country must be united, which means that Republicans and Democrats must work together as the people sent a clear message; “Fighting for the sake of fighting, power for the sake of power, conflict for the sake of conflict, gets us nowhere” Biden said during his State of The Union speech after mentioning areas of bipartisan progress in his first two years in office, including infrastructure spending and high-tech manufacturing.

As reported by The Guardian, the black tie event was described as “very symbolic” by the Republican governor Spencer Cox of Utah because republicans and democrats were “breaking bread together.” He also firmly believes that the American people want to see more collaboration across the political aisle because, in the end, as President Biden mentioned in his speech, the Union is the way to rebuild the country.
