Everything you need to Know about Biden’s Infrastructure Bill

As many of us know, Biden’s infrastructure plan has been passed, and it is exactly what this nation needs. The impact of this bill reaches far and wide, and many communities will benefit significantly from the bill. It’s important to note how this bill will impact communities and overall quality of life. Everything from roads, the nation’s broadband, energy and water systems, public transit, AND environmental remediation will see an upgrade.

Let’s start with the broadband upgrade. Biden plans to invest $100 billion to give everyone access to affordable internet and build a broadband infrastructure covering 100% of the nation. This will make the internet more accessible and bridge the gaps for communities that don’t have reliable internet access. We are also going to have increased funding for roads and bridges. 20% of our nation’s highways and roads are in poor condition. In addition to road and highway repair, this seeks to reduce crashes and improve safety for cyclists. This will also work to reconnect communities divided by roads and infrastructure.

The bill also seeks to improve our power and water systems. After the disastrous freeze in Texas and the ongoing Flint water crisis, these are key issues that are finally seeing some resolve. They plan to improve the electric grid, connecting thousands of miles of power lines, and build on renewable energy. We will see lead service lines and pipes replaced, so communities have access to quality water. This part of the bill also aims to protect the nation from natural disasters and cyber-attacks.

Public school buildings can also expect an upgrade.  Better ventilation systems will be provided as well as technology packages and improved kitchens so schools can provide more nutritious meals.

You can see that a change is being made. Progress is finally taking place thanks to our elected progressive officials. Similar to The New Deal, money is finally going into building the country’s foundation and providing thousands of well-paying jobs to Americans in need after the tumultuous past few years we have experienced.

Biden and Democrats have brought great improvements and excellent opportunities along with this Infrastructure bill. This is why we vote blue! It is more imperative now than ever that we continue to show up to vote and let the Republicans know that we aren’t backing down, and this is what America needs. 2022 Midterms are just around the corner, and we must show up in full force and continue the progress.
