Against opposition and an attempted coup, our Democracy prevailed last week, which is a testament to our Constitution. A record number of Americans turned out to exercise their right to vote for a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. The balance of our Democracy was tested, but its foundation was not shaken as the next President, and Vice President’s Electoral votes were certified by the House and Senate the very evening they were sieged. We recall the words of our Founding Fathers, “we have a Republic, if we can keep it.” It is the fabric of our Democracy built upon checks and balances that safeguarded your voice and your vote.
At Rideshare2Vote, we will continue to fight against voter suppression and work in unrepresented and marginalized communities to ensure that no voter is left behind in this critical democratic process. We do not take voting for granted, as wars have been fought to defend this right. Voting is more than just electing a candidate; it is the voter’s voice to choose the policies and people who will best represent their values. At the core of Rideshare2Vote, we work to ensure that the millions of Democratic voters who don’t have their voices heard get their votes cast. We are working one election at a time by providing wheels to Democracy and removing a genuine barrier to voting.
