Our journey kicked off right after the 2016 elections. We were having chats about holding folks accountable, not just for their own votes, but for those nonvoters they knew. And guess what? Rideshare2Vote was born in 2018.
Our big goal? To be the go-to Democratic full-service GOTV (Get Out The Vote) and Ride2Vote program. We’re all about making it easy for millions of registered but non-voting Progressives and Democrats to know when and where to vote. Plus, we’re all about providing safe and reliable rides to the polls.
So, why do we do what we do? Let us break it down for you.
As time went on, we kept our core idea of giving folks a ride during elections but cranked things up. We started reaching out to voters for campaigns and managing the whole campaign shebang.
We’re all about teaming up with supporters and partner campaigns, plugging in some cool tech, and getting the word out to voters. Our mission is to boost the number of Democratic voters by making sure those millions of Democrats who usually stay quiet get their voices heard. We’re all about changing this one election at a time.
Now, let’s get you acquainted with the folks running the show at Rideshare2Vote.
We’re a bunch of Democrat activists, campaign pros, and ex-elected officials who founded this organization. Our main gig? Doing that all-important GOTV outreach and, when needed, giving voters a ride to the polls to support Democrat/Progressive candidates in all sorts of elections.
Our dream? Fixing the low turnout problem and giving all those eligible voters a nudge to cast their ballot, thanks to our Ride2Vote program.
By the end of 2022, we were in action across 12 states. We’ve got a full-time crew and over 5000 amazing volunteers, from legal eagles to project managers and even some awesome high school students and interns. We’re the tech wizards behind state-of-the-art mobile apps, a toll-free hotline, and an online scheduling form that lets voters book rides when it suits them best.
As we head into 2024, we are prepared to be on road maps in 16 states.
With our rock-solid commitment, Rideshare2Vote is all set to make a real difference and boost democracy by helping more folks get out there and vote.
If you are a private company why should anyone contribute?
The simple answer is we receive NO REVENUE. We sell nothing and legally cannot collect money from voters/riders.
So to adhere to legal campaign and finance laws, we must operate without charging anyone for their right to vote.
So we need your help to support our service.
We have an Actblue link so it is safe and secure to contribute. It currently costs us $15 to give a voter their free round trip ride to the polls.
Why aren’t you a nonprofit?
At this time, the leadership of Rideshare2Vote decided to remain partisan. Therefore, we exist to serve only Democrat Voters.
